OPEN Obsidian Notes

I actually really like obsidian, but I have two issues with it. 1. It's closed source 2. It's an electron application I would love if someone pointed out a plaintext / markdown writing application that uses a similar directory workspace system and uses a non-JS based GUI framework.

QOwnNotes is a hidden gem, ignore the stupid name joplin is the standard of course emacs org-mode is the best thing ever if you don't mind learning emacs

Logseq is the most popular one I know of that gets compared to Obsidian. It's OSS, but also electron. Marktext is the same thing from looking at the docs, but I haven't used that one personally.

For some reason it is very difficult to fulfil the non electron app requirement. Following this topic eagerly. Have tried out a lot of them and none are nearly as good, even ignoring the plugin system.

i use tolaria. it's open source and i sync it across devices automatically via github repo
